Common questions in construction
01Is project-based cost tracking standard?
Yes. The project management module together with cost centres and distribution rules is standard: every site sits under its own project code, and material, subcontractor and equipment costs are posted there. Budget-versus-actual comparison is reported straight from the system.
02Does SAP Business One handle progress payments?
Partly. Contracts, progress records and payment documents can run on standard documents, but the progress-payment formats used in Türkiye and the retention and withholding calculations do not ship as standard. That part is built through configuration, and we agree its scope during the initial analysis.
03Can purchase requests be raised from the site?
Yes. Purchase requests and approval procedures are standard: the site manager enters the request, it passes the defined approval levels, and head office converts it into a purchase order. Web-based screens run in a browser, so no separate installation is needed on site.
04Can we track the use of machinery and fixed assets?
The fixed assets module covers asset records, depreciation and location changes, while maintenance and breakdown records sit in the service module. Allocating cost by machine hours per site is possible but requires configuration.
