SAP Business One for Marble & Natural Stone
SAP Business One for marble and natural stone unites m²/ton-based block and slab inventory, quarry-to-factory production, and export management on one platform. m²-based stock tracking makes inventory accuracy precise, and grading combined with container-loading planning cuts loading errors. Scrap and yield analysis makes block yield measurable and keeps costs under control.
Make block, slab, and cut-to-size inventory, production, and export processes fully traceable — measured in m²/tons — with SAP Business One.

A typical transformation for a marble producer and exporter
Before: Slab inventory was kept in warehouse logbooks without m² tracking, and export loadings kept getting mixed up.
After: m²-based slab inventory, grading, and container loading plans came together on SAP.
Inventory accuracy
Precise, by m²
Loading errors
Reduced
Block yield
Now measurable

Common questions in marble and natural stone
01Can we track block and slab stock in square metres?
Unit-of-measure groups and multiple units (piece, m², tonne) are standard, so stock can be followed in square metres. Slab-level tracking, where every single slab is its own record with its own dimensions, is not standard; it is solved with configuration built on the batch and serial structure, and we define that during scoping.
02Does the system follow cutting and scrap from quarry to plant?
Yes. Cutting and polishing steps are defined as work orders, and the difference between block input and slab output is reported as scrap, which makes block yield measurable. For the yield to be correct, the input measurement has to be entered in the production record.
03Can export paperwork and container loading be managed in the system?
Proformas, orders and delivery documents are produced in the standard sales flow, while packing lists and container-based loading plans are built with the packing structure plus configuration. Customs paperwork differs by destination country, so that part is defined separately in project scope.
04Can we separate grades and selections in stock?
Yes. Colour, pattern and quality grade are defined as item properties or batch attributes, so different selections under the same item code are tracked and priced separately. That reduces the risk of shipping the wrong grade.
